Many brides and grooms-to-be become nervous when it comes to planning their wedding.

The following is a guide to help you.

 

6-12 months before

  1. Develop a budget
  2. Alert your family and friends
  3. Determine possible dates
  4. Reserve a venue for the ceremony
  5. Reserve a location for the reception
  6. Hire a photographer and/or videographer
  7. Hire entertainment for the reception
  8. Shop for wedding gown and attendants' dresses
  9. Establish a gift registry

4-6 months before

  1. Make formal wear arrangements for groom and ushers
  2. Order invitations, thank you notes,
  3. Make reservations for the honeymoon
  4. Hire a florist
  5. Finalize the guest list
  6. Obtain marriage license

3 months before

  1. Get a marriage license
  2. Plan the ceremony
  3. Shop for wedding rings
  4. Order the wedding cake
  5. Plan for transportation i.e. limo service
  6. Arrange hotel rooms for out-of-town guests

1-2 months before

  1. Send invitations
  2. Arrange for the rehearsal dinner
  3. Purchase gifts for attendants
  4. Confirm all beauty appointments regarding the wedding day
  5. Finalize song choices i.e. first dance & parent dances
  6. Finalize agreement with photographer and/or videographer
  7. Finalize floral arrangements
  8. Finalize transportation plans for wedding day and night
  9. Plan for traveling abroad if needed (passports, immunization shots, etc.)

1-3 weeks before

  1. Confirm catering arrangements and final count of guests
  2. Pick up bridal gown and needed accessories
  3. Make arrangements to pick up groom's garments and those of his ushers
  4. Prepare envelopes to pay wedding venue, musicians, photographer, etc.

The night before

  1. Finish packing for honeymoon
  2. Give gifts to attendants at rehearsal dinner
  3. Give payment envelopes to best man to tip service providers after the wedding

The wedding day

  1. Bring car keys, wedding rings, wedding license, airline tickets, passports, money, etc.
  2. Place wedding night and honeymoon luggage in at the front door
  3. Get dressed, relax and have a great time!!!
